Cash Transfer Program (CTP) comes in various forms such as grants, cash for work and vouchers. Oxfam uses all these three forms of cash programs primarily in the context of Emergency Food Security and Vulnerable Livelihood (EFSVL) sectors. Every since the 2015 mega earthquakes, Oxfam is working in 7 of the 14 affected district, where it has been using different modalities of cash assistance as per district needs, market functionality, capacity of service providers and governing policies. The intervention has been beneficial to over 500,000 individuals since the earthquake. Under the CTP modalities, the activities targeted by Oxfam are cash for work, livelihood support grant, agro and livelihood support grant and vouchers, agriculture service vouchers, petty traders grants, etc. The method used to fulfill all these activities for the potential beneficiaries was by partnering with financial institutions and cooperatives and consequently their local network in the working districts.
The study acted as a guide for future, where Oxfam will use these guidance and recommendation in regard to CTP particularly for Nepal Earthquake Recovery phases.
